How did you make the ceiling mounted monkey bars? I have been trying to figure out how to do something similar
ReplyDeleteWhat I did for my monkey bars was to mount 2x6's to a sheet of plywood ripped in half length wise. I used a bunch of screws to secure the 2x6's to the edges of the plywood. Then drilled holes into the 2x6's to run dowels through. Then used anchor bolts to secure the entire assembly up to the ceiling (finished ceiling). Because floor joists don't always fall where you want them, this was a great solution. 16' of monkey bars for I think under $50.
ReplyDeleteWhere are you attaching the anchor bolts to? Drywall? And if so do you recall what type you used.
ReplyDeleteI just used like 3"-4" anchor bolts with large washers into the ceiling joists. You need to locate those with a stud sensor if they're not exposed. You definitely need to bolt into something substantial. Sheetrock anchors won't work.
